There should be a "Coach Club" in town. What a great group this would be! Coaches are very special people, taking time out from busy life schedules to organize, train and mentor team members. In the world of sports, volunteers are needed on all levels. Teachers, coaches, officiates and good organizers are warmly welcomed. An accomplished friend told us, "Of all the things I have done in life, coaching children gave me the greatest reward." Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center (BANC)
Department of Parks and Recreation Organized sports include baseball, basketball, soccer, field hockey, gymnastics and softball as well as Kamp Kairphree and the Summer Fun Program. The fields and facilities, which host these programs, are located all over town, including the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center (90 Harding Road, Old Greenwich) and the Western Greenwich Civic Center (449 Pemberwick Road, Glenville). Dedicated and committed volunteer coaches and officials are welcome to get involved in these sports programs run by the town (in-house training is a requirement). The Special Events are another fun way for parents and interested residents to volunteer with the Department of Parks and Recreation (See CHILDREN Section).
