VOLUNTEERING IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF OUR TOWN
When asked, "What makes Greenwich Special?" The answer–Volunteers!
Greenwich has a wealth of volunteers committed to making life in our town
the best it can be. Volunteers are the "Heart and Soul" of our town. In
this booklet, over 120 volunteer organizations are listed. This
list does not include the schools and places of worship, where many people
donate lots of time and talent. We have tried to limit the volunteer organizations listed to those having a Greenwich contact or a Greenwich location. We know we may have missed many worthy groups, and we look forward to adding more. Additionally contact information is always changing and we may not always keep up. Please send us a note or e-mail with any corrections. Additional Resources Community Answers Community Answers, an incredibly helpful volunteer organization located in the Greenwich Library, is the perfect resource for finding information about the volunteer opportunities in town. Call and ask your question. A most helpful volunteer voice will help find a match to your volunteer interest. (The) Greenwich Post This weekly Greenwich paper features many of the volunteer
organizations in town. If you are not receiving The Post, call
them. It is a free publication filled with up-to-date information about
Greenwich. Be sure to check the column "postings" for a list of current
events for the week including the many benefits and events supporting the
volunteer groups listed in this guide. (The) Greenwich Time Highly recommended are two, once-a-week columns that appear every Sunday in the Greenwich Time, entitled "Caring and Sharing" and "Volunteers Needed". Nonprofit community groups seeking goods or services may send their requests to be printed in this column. Because it always provides a list of current needs in our area, this is a must-read column.
(The) Volunteer Center of Southwestern Fairfield County www.ucanhelp.org Many, many volunteer opportunities are available in our surrounding areas. Check with The Volunteer Center of Southwestern Fairfield County for up-to-date lists of volunteer needs. They include Greenwich organizations as well as many other organizations in our neighboring towns.
