Nestled in Belle Haven, in a lovely, formal inn with antiques and a garden setting, there is a restaurant with delicious contemporary French food. We rate this as one of Greenwich's best. The owner and chef, Thomas Henkelmann, is regarded as one of the premier chefs in the US. The wait staff is attentive, polite and informed. Men should wear a jacket and tie.

Hours: Breakfast only for the inn guests; Lunch, weekdays noon - 2:30 pm; Dinner, every day 6 pm - 9 pm; Closed the first two weeks in March. Closed Sundays from mid-July through August. Make reservations well in advance.

Prices: Lunch entrees, $35 - $55; Dinner entrees, $55 - $75 Wine by the glass $14-$15.
