This is the best Texas Bar-B-Q this side of Fort Worth. Casual and inexpensive, Smokey Joe's offers a great variety of meats, gumbos and side dishes, in a cafeteria-style restaurant setting. The servings (on paper, not porcelain) are large, especially the Texas size. Order their beef brisket and pulled pork, with a side of collard greens and sweet potato fries. For cafeteria dining, enter the side door to the lower level.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 11:30 am - 9:30 pm, Friday & Saturday 11:30 am - 10:30 pm, Sunday, 11:30 am - 9:30 pm; lunch specials served until 3 pm.

Prices: Lunch specials, 2 meats plus + 2 sides $12; Dinner, sandwiches, Burgers and Quesadillas $8 - $10; two-meat with sides $14 - $15; Wine by the glass $6.
