On September 10, 2005, Carolyn & Jerry Anderson hosted their third "blind" tasting party. This time it was hot and cold hors d’oeuvres from 10 local caterers (unfortunately Susan Morton was not able to participate). Over 200 present and former Anderson Associates’ clients evaluated the hors d’oeuvres. Each was rated on a score of 1-5. For a detail description of how the tasting was conducted see the articles published by the Greenwich Post or Greenwich Time.
The scoring for this contest was more complex than in previous ones. Some preferred hot, some cold and almost everyone had something they didn’t like. Below we have the best liked hot hors d’oeuvres, the best liked cold hors d’oeuvres and the caterers with the highest composite scores. As you will see, the winners in each category are not necessarily the same and the composite scores are remarkably close. Service was note evaluated, as all of the hors d’oeuvres were served by our own staff.
